SNES Classic Mini pre-order UPDATE - Stock checker latest is great news for fans

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Edition has been selling like hot cakes, with pre-orders still going fast as the big release date approaches.

At the start of the week SNES Classic Mini pre-orders returned to the Official Nintendo Store UK, but sold out in a matter of minutes.

While Tesco Direct also have been selling SNES Classic Mini pre-orders, but whenever they have become available have sold out at lightning fast speeds.

Nintendo have tried to reassure fans about stock levels ahead of the SNES Classic Mini release date on Friday.

The gaming giant said they are producing much more consoles than the NES Classic Mini, which was discontinued after suffering widespread stock shortages.

But that hasn’t stopped fans rushing out to try and get a SNES Classic Mini pre-order whenever stock has become available.

For fans fearing about how much stock will be available at launch, they have received some welcome news.

Gaming tipster Wario64 has been posting about SNES Classic Mini stock levels on Twitter, and the signs seem to be good.

Wario64 has been looking at stores in the US and analysing how much stock they have available for the SNES Classic Mini on launch day.

The tipster has posted screenshots showing stock levels for Best Buy stores in America, and it’s looking very healthy.

Pictures he posted showed a large number of Best Buy Stores with HUNDREDS of units available at launch.

One store had almost 400 consoles available for SNES Classic Mini fans this Friday.

It’s unclear whether these numbers will also cover consoles pre-ordered by SNES Classic Mini fans.

But either way it bodes well for how much stock will be available on the SNES Classic Mini release date.

Fans who follow Wario64 were boosted by the SNES Classic Mini stock news.

One gamer posted: “Looks like people aren't gonna have any issues getting one. Good.”

While another said: “Wow, nice! I might score one now!”

And one added:  “Looks like resell value will be non-existent which is a good thing.”

Hopefully the stock news is an indication for SNES Classic Mini stock levels at stores around the world.

Fans desperate for a console who have been unable to secure a SNES Classic Mini may so far have been tempted to turn to eBay to secure a pint-sized console.

But Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has warned AGAINST doing this and assured fans about stock availability.

In a recent interview with the Financial Times, he said that Nintendo had “dramatically increased” production for the SNES Classic Mini.

This comes after its predecessor, the NES Classic Mini, was discontinued after suffering widespread stock shortages worldwide.

Reggie told gamers not to pay above the RRP for a SNES Classic Mini and suggested the console WILL be widely available.

He said: "I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn't [have to] pay more than $79.99.”
