GTA Online will have faster vehicle upgrades on PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Wheels of fortune.

GTA 5 is set to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this November, and when it does, it seems players on the newer consoles will have access to a couple of exclusive upgrades.

Rockstar announced on Twitter that "select vehicles will be upgradable" on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, with "all new speed improvements and more".

"These special upgrades will be available only on PS5 and Series X/S versions of GTA 5 - stay tuned for more details," the tweet added.

The tweet doesn't exactly go into much detail, but the decision has prompted some questions about whether the PC version will also be given access to these upgrades. Some believe this casts doubt on the possibility of cross-play between console generations, as giving PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players faster cars does seem rather unfair on last-gen players. It's all a bit unclear, so hopefully we'll hear more from Rockstar ahead of the PS5 and Xbox Series release on 11th November.
